"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is released in the U.K. and 2 days later in the U.S. The second song on the album, With A Little Help From My Friends, was written for Ringo (Billy Shears).

A live performance of All You Need Is Love is broadcast simultaneously to five continents via satellite. Guests include Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithful, Keith Richard, Keith Moon, Eric Clapton and Graham Nash. The live performance of the bass, drums, lead, orchestra and vocals is recorded, then mixed with the pre recorded rhythm track the following day. The single was released on July 7th with Baby, You're A Rich Man.
